Jersey Street, Elizabeth, NJ 07206Job SummaryThe Assistant Director of Nursing is responsible for oversight and direction of the night shift in Behavioral Health inpatient units at New Point Campus. The Child inpatient unit is a 40-bed unit consisting of both crisis, intermediate, and DD bed availability. The experienced nurse, along with a multidisciplinary team, collaborates on treatment goals that will be implemented to help treat patients with psychiatric and/or behavioral issues.RequiredQualifications:
  • Graduate from an accredited school or university
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in Behavioral Health Nursing
  • Acute care setting experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Organizational ability, nurse management and leadership skills
  • Demonstrated clinical expertise in standard area
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Successful completion of all Orientation Programs
Preferred
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree preferred
  • Med./Surg. Telemetry and/or ER nursing experience
  • Psychiatric-Mental Health certifications and/or national nursing certifications
Certifications And Licenses Required
  • Current Registered Nurse License in the state of New Jersey
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association

Essential FunctionsThe Trinitas Department of Behavioral Health and Psychiatry, part of Trinitas Regional Medical Center and an RWJBarnabas Health facility, offers comprehensive treatments for daily stress, aging challenges, child development, and chemical dependency alternatives. With specialized care for adults, children, adolescents, and families, including provisions for mentally ill/developmentally-disabled individuals in a 98-bed inpatient facility, we serve individuals from Union County and across New Jersey. Providing over 200,000 outpatient visits annually, our services range from Mobile Crisis Units to Inpatient and Outpatient care, staffed by a diverse, multidisciplinary team of practitioners, including bilingual staff.
