South Dakota State University (SDSU) Admissions is offering an exciting career opportunity as Assistant Director of Recruitment Programs. We are looking for a creative and innovative event planning professional to join us in the Office of Admissions, leading our efforts to provide high quality and impactful campus visit experiences and recruitment programs to meet the enrollment goals of the university. The position will also lead and develop efforts to recruit, hire, train, supervise, and mentor the Admissions ambassador team, one of the premier student groups on campus at SDSU. This position is located in Brookings and is a 12-month, full-time, benefits-eligible position, which does require some work in evening and weekends.
The Admissions Office at SDSU serves as the primary gateway for prospective students facilitating a smooth and transparent exploration, application, and enrollment process focused on high quality experiences and exceptional service. The department engages in active recruitment and outreach efforts while collaborating closely with academic departments, financial aid, and other administrative units to ensure a seamless experience for prospective and admitted students.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Develop, implement, and evaluate successful on-campus recruitment programs including Senior Day, Junior Day, Jackrabbit Preview, Yellow & Blue Discovery Day and Daily Visits;
* Develop, implement, and evaluate successful off-campus recruitment programs
* Coordinate the Distinguished Scholars Interview program for SDSU's most prestigious academic scholarships;
* Coordinate the recruitment, selection, training, and supervision of SDSU's Admissions Ambassador program;
* Supervise key office staff providing support to recruitment and visit functions.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
* Completed Bachelor's Degree in relatable field by start date;
* At least three years of successful work experience in program development, event planning, higher education, or relatable field;
* Excellent written communication skills;
* Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills;
* Demonstrated effective organizational and time management skills, and strong attention to detail;
* Valid driver's license, or ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire, and willingness to travel infrequently to off-campus events.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* Successful experience designing and implementing recruitment programs or relatable experiences;
* Successful experience developing student staff groups;
* Successful experience supervising student and professional staff;
* Demonstrated ability to utilize and model strong customer service skills and philosophy; and
* Strong knowledge of South Dakota State University.
