HOURS/WEEK and MONTHS/YEAR: 35 hours/week and 52 weeks/year FLSA STATUS: Exempt, Salaried GENERAL PURPOSEThe Assistant Director for Residential Education is responsible for the day-to-day operations and programming efforts for Molloy University's three residence halls. The Assistant Director also serves as an on-call administrator for the residence halls and will supervise the RA staff for two of the residence halls. This is a live-in position and includes a furnished one-bedroom apartment on campus.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • This position is responsible for the implementation of a robust programming calendar for the residential student population that aligns with the Division of Student Affairs and Molloy's institutional goals. Included in this is oversight and development of the Living at Molloy residential curriculum, serving as a resource for RA and department wide programming, and ensuring accurate assessment and allocation of resources. The Assistant Director is responsible for establishing and maintaining positive, professional relationships with the Residence Life staff and the campus residents, The Assistant Director is also responsible for departmental communication and marketing both to the Division of Student Affairs and to the general Molloy community. This includes updating and maintaining information on the Molloy website and communication with campus partners including Admissions, Campus Services, Communications and Marketing and key student support areas on campus. Additionally, this position will oversee the departmental Instagram account, @livingatMolloy.
  • The Assistant Director will serve as the liaison between Residence Life and the Molloy Department of Facilities and ensure timely review and completion of all work orders. Additionally, this position will manage the Microfridge rental program and other vendor deliveries to the residence halls.
  • The Assistant Director will serve as part of the crisis response and after-hours administrator on call rotation when there are students on campus. This position will coordinate summer housing and conference groups utilization of the residence halls.
REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Master's Degree in Counseling, Higher Education or related field.
  • 3 to 5 years of work related experience - Must have at least 3 years of Residence Life experience.
  • Microsoft Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
  • Extremely organized, friendly, possess a strong attention to detail, be able to multi-task, and be willing to collaborate.
  • Strong communicator and be able to utilize discretion and act independently.
  • Must be comfortable utilizing technology and learning how to use to residence life software.

SALARY INFORMATIONWhen determining the salary offer for a new employee, Molloy considers several key characteristics such as job knowledge, skills, and experience as well as internal and external equity. The hiring annual salary for this position is $60,000 to $62,000 plus housing. This annual salary range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of compensation at the time of posting.
