Job Description:

The University of Southern Maine is seeking an Assistant Director of Residential Life for a dynamic, dedicated team.

The Assistant Director of Residential Life ( will supervise 3-4 Residential Directors at either our Portland and Gorham Campus, or both. The Assistant Director is responsible for shaping the residential student co-curricular educational experience and managing the residential curriculum and learning initiatives. They will assist with the recruitment, selection, and training of both our professional Resident Directors and the paraprofessional student staff. This role is live-off and would be part of an administrator on-call rotation.

This is a full-time position located on our Portland Campus with an annual salary up to $55,000.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master's degree with no less than 2 years of professional experience in a student affairs-related discipline, or equivalent.

  • Ability to communicate effectively.

  • Ability to understand work to be done, organize that work and delegate tasks to staff members.
