About the role:

Four Seasons Hotel New York is looking for an Assistant Director of Rooms. This role directs and controls the activities of the Front Desk, Concierge, Housekeeping and Guest Services departments and will have overall oversight for the day-to-day management of the Rooms operation. Acts as the senior manager in these departments when the Division head is unavailable. Assumes the responsibilities of the Director of Rooms in his/her absence. Responds to a wide variety of guest requests by accurately assessing the guest needs and requests and then adding personal recommendations and touches to achieve maximum customer satisfaction while complying with all Four Seasons' policies.

This role will act as the main point of contact for all Hotel guests and will coordinate all aspects of their pre-arrival and in-house experience in close cooperation with all operational departments (Housekeeping, Front Office, F&B, Core, IRD and Guest Relations). This person will also be responsible to coordinate and follow up on all engineering and contractor works affecting the guest rooms and will act as liaison between the engineering, housekeeping & hotel services to ensure that service maintenance tasks are carried out as needed. A small part of the role will involve following up on financial reconciliation, billing, audit, and contract management related to the rooms division.

What you will do:

* Directly manages the managers at the Front Desk and Guest Services team. In the absence of the Director of Rooms over sees all rooms division managers. Ensures thorough communication and follow-up on any problems, guest or employee request or special requirements, and hotel initiatives. Interviews, and trains the staff. Conducts Performance Evaluations and disciplines staff when needed.

* Reviews and monitors schedules of staff in all departments in the Rooms Division. Monitors their activities to assure that standards are being met, staff is being supported and guest needs are being met. Inspects all areas of responsibility in the Rooms Division - conducts regular walkthroughs and makes recommendations for improvements, addressing deficiencies

* Ensure all Four Seasons Rooms and Residential Policies and Procedures are developed and implemented

* Resolves customer complaints from all areas of the hotel, handling all guest interactions with the highest level of hospitality and professionalism, accommodating special requests whenever possible. Will resolve complaints in person, by phone or through written message.

* Assists customers in all inquiries in connection with hotel services, hours of operations, key hotel personnel, in-house events, directions, etc. Responds to all guest requests in an accurate and timely manner. Interaction with guest will be in person and by phone.

* Assures that financial goals of the Rooms Division are being met. Monitors and controls labor expense, and supplies/equipment expenses. Works closely with Reservations, Sales and the Front Office to maximize rate, occupancy and total revenue. Maintains close relationships with retail tenants and concessions to ensure guest service standards are met along with revenue/expense targets. Assists Director of Rooms in preparing Annual Budget.

* Acts as the senior manager in the Rooms Division in the absence of the Director. Assists the Director of Rooms and Director of Finance in forecasting and budgeting of revenues and expenses for all departments in the Rooms Division and across the residential entity.

What you bring:

* College degree in business administration or hospitality management. Additional knowledge of real estate/facility management, finance or accounting is beneficial

* Minimum of 5 years experience in a variety of Rooms management positions.

* Strong computer skills are required with experience in working with Opera, centralized purchasing, Ledger systems and Microsoft Excel.

* Reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language. Knowledge of additional languages is a plus.

* Strong business acumen, the ability to multitask and coordinate the work of various departments is essential.

* Excellent planning and organizational skills.

* A high level of attention to detail.

* Excellent people & team leadership skills.

Schedule & Hours:

This role is a full time, on-site role.

Compensation:

108,000 - 111,000 Annual Salary
