The Division of Enrollment Management Services seeks an Assistant Director of Student Accounts who is able to work within an established framework for financial services and Enrollment Management in support of student recruitment, enrollment, retention and graduation goals.

Essential Duties Summary

* Supervision and Training: Hire, supervise, and train student workers to deliver exceptional customer service.

* Payment Platform Management: Ensure the Nelnet payment platform operates correctly and efficiently, managing payment plans for students.

* Financial Aid Processes: Monitor and maintain student financial aid records and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.

* Communication Management: Maintain phones and student billing/financial aid email; process daily mail and inquiries.

* Invoicing Support: Support the invoicing of student-related charges submitted by other departments, including processing and managing Dual Credit checks and invoices.

* Billing Statements: Prepare and process billing statements for current and former student accounts.

* Third-Party Invoicing: Manage all student-related third-party invoicing, ensuring timely and accurate billing.

* Financial Guidance: Explain financial information and billing processes to students and parents, including presenting at student orientation and registration.

* Bank Transactions: Process bank deposits and ACH transactions through the financial institution.

* Troubleshooting: Address and resolve processes and technical issues in collaboration with Information Services.

* Reconciliation: Reconcile general ledger accounts for accuracy in support of year-end audits.

* Budget Maintenance: Manage the Student Accounts budget effectively.

* Debt Management: Review and prepare uncollectible accounts and maintain records as bad debt.

* Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

High school diploma and college hours towards a degree. A combination of two years of experience in student financial aid, student services, student personnel, customer service, or related experience. Must have superior communication, customer service, and time management skills as well as a professional demeanor. Candidate must be willing to work evenings and/or weekends during peak, high-volume periods. Candidate must be able to organize, prioritize multiple tasks, meet deadlines, stay on task and manage the workload with efficiency and quality within a highly computerized environment. Must have the ability to use tact, discretion and diplomacy in advising and responding to questions and concerns from students and their families

Minimum Required Education Some College Hours Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree. Proficiency with software including MS Word and Excel. Knowledge of state and federal aid programs. Experience in a higher education Financial Aid environment and familiar with Financial Aid software such as Jenzabar. Prior experience making presentations to groups of various sizes. Fluency in English & Spanish, both written and verbal communications is preferred. Experience in bookkeeping and cash handling.
