Detailed Position Description

St. Mary's College of Maryland at Historic St. Mary's City is accepting rsums for the position of Assistant Director of the Physical Plant. This position is responsible for day-to-day trades operations. The primary responsibilities are supervision of, and coordination of, operational functions associated with operational and maintenance activities within the mechanical and general trades groups, and other duties as appropriate. This position requires excellent management skills and a strong background in mechanical trades, controls, general building maintenance and operations, and personnel management.

Qualifications: Minimum of an accredited bachelor's degree, preferably in Engineering and a minimum of seven to ten years of supervisory and progressive management experience in facilities maintenance and repair services. Working knowledge of building heating, cooling, and control systems. General knowledge of building construction trades. Thorough knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations relative to plant operation and maintenance. Must possess a valid Maryland driver's license. Ability to lift approximately fifty (50) pounds. Ability to use ladders to work at heights up to approximately thirty-five (35) feet. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and applications. Any combination of acceptable education and experience, which has provided the necessary knowledge and skills to fulfill the requirements of this position, may be considered. Employment will be contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check. The salary range is $105k to $110k, depending on qualifications and experience.
