JOB SUMMARY: The Assistant Director of the Registrar's Office is responsible for assisting with handling registration and maintaining the integrity of students' personal information and academic records. This position will play a key part in the implementation of student management programs, including testing programs with different student populations.

CHARACTERISTIC JOB TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Acts with integrity, honesty, and knowledge to promote and preserve the culture, values, and mission of LECOM;

* Acts as administrative representative with faculty, staff, and visitors in a professional, friendly manner at all times;

* Maintains confidentiality, professional appearance, and pleasant demeanor;

* Works with the Registrar and Assistant Registrar to manage activities and assist with organization in the Registrar's office;

* Serves as a content expert and accepts responsibility for the management of student records;

* Advises and consults with administration and management regarding operational problems in the Registrar's office;

* Works with the team to resolve problems regarding academic student records;

* Provides resources on graduation and degree requirements;

* Issues transcripts and grades, verifies enrollment, loan deferments, and insurance forms, and issues background checks;

* Holds counseling sessions with students at the time of registration or during the course of the academic year;

* Interviews parents, faculty and students with special requests related to admission and registration;

* Performs data entry and archives files or transcripts;

* Participates in the organization of interviews, on-campus visitation, open houses, white coat, commencement, and other departmental programs;

* Participates in service unit goals setting and continuous improvement;

* Serve on school committees as required and provides administrative support to standing and ad hoc committees as required by the Registrar;

* Documents completion of training of tasks and responsibilities;

* Assists with assessment processes;

* Assists with aspects of financial aid;

* Maintains a calm demeanor during periods of high volume or unusual events to keep operating to standard and to set a positive example for the overall department;

* Maintains regular and punctual attendance;

* Contributes directly to the Mission of LECOM embodying the essence of Osteopathic Principles and Practices by assisting with Institutional fundraising and participating in the LECOM Scholarship Auction;

* Participates in scholarly activity so to enrich and broaden the student learning experience;

* Commits to being a representative of LECOM by being actively involved in the community, including, but not limited to, serving on Boards, participating in community fundraisers and overall outreach; and

* Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the Registrar's office and the Institution.

* Organizational and planning skills, including attention to detail and follow-through;

* Strong computer literacy and accurate data entry skills;

* Knowledge of the protocols and procedures in Institutional education;

* Ability to learn quickly;

* Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions and request clarification when needed;

* Flexibility to accept other duties needed/assigned for the department needs;

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and experience equivalent to: a Bachelor's Degree is required. Previous educational or similar experience preferred. Experience handling student records and working with Banner or similar educational software is highly preferred.
