We are seeking an Assistant Director to enhance student satisfaction through exceptional customer service while safeguarding sensitive information. Responsibilities include supervising staff, assessing financial aid eligibility, and collaborating with departments to improve communication and service delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
* Customer Service & Confidentiality: Provide prompt support via phone, email, and in-person while maintaining strict confidentiality of student and employee information.
* Staff Supervision & Hiring Needs: Mentor staff in financial aid eligibility assessments and identify staffing requirements.
* Document & Communication Management: Review and manage student documents efficiently while collaborating with the staff members to ensure effective communication.
* Eligibility Evaluation & Enrollment Support: Assess student eligibility for financial aid packaging and assist with enrollment cleanup.
* Integration Management & Monitoring: Execute Summer Enrollment tasks, COA calculations, and oversee compliance in Transfer Monitoring Integration.
* Data Analysis & Complaint Resolution: Analyze customer service trends and address student complaints to enhance satisfaction.
* Retention Strategies & Performance Evaluation: Develop strategies to improve student retention and measure the effectiveness of Student Financial Counselors.
* Financial Information Oversight & Credit Balance Review: Manage the flow of financial information between the university and students and assess credit balances for refund eligibility.
* Additional Duties: Complete other related tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Finance, Education, Business Administration, or a related field.
* Experience in financial aid, student services, or customer service preferred.
* Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
* Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
* Advanced Excel skills and experience with reporting and data analysis.
* Familiarity with federal and state financial aid regulations is a plus.
Working Conditions:
This position may require occasional evening or weekend work during peak enrollment periods. The supervisor will work in an office environment, engaging regularly with students and staff.
