Job Title: Assistant Director of Wellness Position Type: Full-Time Reports To: Director of Wellness Job Summary: The Assistant Director of Wellness plays a crucial role in ensuring the health and well-being of residents at The Brickmont of Johns Creek, with a special focus on memory care. This position involves assisting the Director of Wellness in overseeing the day-to-day wellness operations, developing and implementing wellness programs, and providing direct support to residents. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a compassionate approach to resident care, and the ability to collaborate effectively with staff and healthcare professionals. Key Responsibilities: Resident Care Management:
- Assist in developing and implementing individualized wellness plans for residents.
- Monitor and evaluate residents' health status, providing direct care and intervention as needed.
- Ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations and community policies.
- Coordinate with healthcare providers, families, and residents to facilitate optimal care.
- Conduct and review assessments and care plan meetings for memory care residents, focusing on specialized needs and interventions.
Program Development and Implementation:
- Assist in designing and executing wellness programs and activities that promote physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
- Organize and conduct health screenings, fitness classes, and educational workshops.
- Foster a supportive and engaging community environment that encourages resident participation in wellness activities.
- Develop and implement specialized programs tailored to memory care residents, including cognitive stimulation activities and sensory engagement.
Staff Supervision and Training:
- Assist in recruiting, training, and supervising wellness staff, including nurses, aides, and therapists.
- Provide ongoing education and training to staff on best practices in resident care and wellness.
- Ensure staff adherence to community policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Train staff specifically in memory care techniques and approaches to enhance the quality of care for memory-impaired residents.
Administrative Duties:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date resident health records and documentation.
- Assist in budgeting and financial management of the wellness department.
- Prepare and present reports on wellness program outcomes and resident health metrics.
- Audit MARs (Medication Administration Records) and medication carts regularly.
- Oversee the memory care unit to ensure residents receive appropriate and compassionate care.
- Review and verify physician orders to ensure proper documentation and resident care.
- Document resident interactions, care provided, and any changes in health status.
- Ensure up-to-date assessments on residents.
Community Engagement:
- Act as a liaison between residents, families, staff, and external healthcare providers.
- Participate in community events and outreach efforts to promote wellness initiatives.
- Address and resolve resident and family concerns related to wellness services. Other Responsibilities:
- Fulfill any additional tasks or assignments as directed by the Director of Wellness.
- Collaborate with the Memory Care Director to assist with interventions and programming.
Qualifications:
- Current RN or LPN licensure
- Strong understanding of geriatric care and wellness program development.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care, with a specific focus on memory care needs.
Working Conditions:
- Full-time position, with working hours from 2pm 10-30pm each day.
- Every other weekend is required.
- Requires mobility to interact with residents and staff throughout the community.
