Job Summary

The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for an Assistant Director, Outreach & Community Engagement, CAMP on the Gainesville campus. Under the general supervision of the Director of the College Assistance Migrant Program (CAMP), the bilingual (English/Spanish) Assistant Director of Outreach and Community Engagement for CAMP at the University of North Georgia will directly manage communications and outreach designed to achieve enrollment goals for the grant. The Assistant Director will lead recruitment efforts that include the supervision of an Assistant Recruiter, as well as travel to various locations to identify, recruit and enroll prospective participants. CAMP is a federally funded program, designed to support students from migrant and seasonal farm-worker backgrounds, during their first year in college and beyond. The Assistant Director will work with the Georgia Migrant Education program, local school systems, and local organizations to promote the program. They will collaborate with various other community agencies and institutional partners for the promotion of the program. Multi-campus travel, weekend and evening work will occur. Position re-appointment is contingent upon reaching assigned goals, successfully meeting all job responsibilities and the continuation of grant on a yearly basis. The Assistant Director will perform the CAMP Director duties in their absence. Must be flexible as will work on Saturdays and some evenings.

Responsibilities

* Provide strategic direction for and engage in community and outreach programs to promote CAMP. Coordinate program's marketing and social media. Register and attend informational events.

* In collaboration with the Assistant Recruiter, travel to various locations to recruit and enroll CAMP participants to reach yearly program goals. Maintain recruitment databases to create effective enrollment/recruitment and outreach decision making strategies. Attend informational and community outreach events to promote program.

* Coordinate and execute all CAMP Preview Days and CAMP Orientation(s). Assist in all other program events.

* Develop and implement student enrollment plans and assist in the selection process. Review initial participant eligibility, conduct student intake, and coordinate interventions to reach recruitment/enrollment goals. Build extensive rapport with students and their families to help them through the enrollment processes.

* Coordinate with the Director to maintain student files and student enrollment processes. Ensure student files are compliant with federal guidelines. Supervise Assistant Recruiter and student staff as needed.

* Coordinate and collaborate with various partners to implement effective enrollment initiatives and provide appropriate services. Build extensive rapport with community organizations and local government agencies. Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

* Higher education enrollment services knowledge.

* Must have strong computer/technology, social media, and Microsoft Office skills.

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

* Ability to develop, implement, and facilitate student recruitment strategies; engage participants, university staff and partners; assess participants learning needs; and monitor data.

* Ability to work under minimal supervision to meet deadlines, follow through, and fluctuating workloads.

Required Qualifications

* Bachelor's Degree required.

* Valid Georgia Driver's License required.

* Bilingual in Spanish and English is required.

Preferred Qualifications

* Master's Degree Preferred.

* Two (2) years of experience in serving underserved or disadvantaged students through community outreach, advising, or counseling in an academic environment is preferred.

Proposed Salary

* The minimum starting salary is $47,401/annually.
