Job Description:

A New York City healthcare network is currently seeking an experienced professional to join their staff as their new Assistant Director of People Leaves Administration. In this role, the Assistant Director of People Leaves Administration will oversee the daily activities of the Leaves Administration team and ensuring operational efficiency while employing consistency in administration. About the opportunity:

  • Location: Nassau County
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday
  • Hours: 9 AM - 5:30 PM

Responsibilities:The Assistant Director of People Leaves Administration will:

  • Oversee and manage the administration of employee leave programs, including FMLA, disability, and other leave policies
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local leave laws and regulations, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of legal requirements
  • Collaborate with HR, legal, and departmental managers to develop and implement leave policies and procedures
  • Provide guidance and support to employees and managers regarding leave entitlements, processes, and documentation requirements
  • Monitor and analyze leave trends and metrics, providing reports and recommendations to senior management
  • Develop and deliver training programs for staff on leave policies, procedures, and compliance issues
  • Manage a team of leave administration specialists, providing leadership, coaching, and performance feedback
  • Serve as a point of contact for complex leave cases, offering resolution and ensuring a smooth leave experience for employees

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 7+ years' experience in leave administration
  • 3+ years supervisory experience required
  • Knowledge of FMLA, Workers Compensation ADA, PFL, and Disability processing
  • Experience with union team members, preferably 1199 SUIU, CIR, SSOBA and Local 30
  • Knowledge of HRIS systems
  • Proficiency in Google and MS Office suite products
  • Great interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Highly organized

Desired Skills:

  • Associates degree, bachelor's degree in human resources management or related field
  • Current HR Professional Certification
