Job Description:
Under general direction of the Senior Director, Project & Instructional Resources, the Assistant Director is responsible for managing cross-functional initiatives/operations that promote the educational goals of the Graduate School of Management (GSM) and UC Davis at three locations as well as ensuring support for, and compliance at, a fourth location and in our online program offerings. Maintain a high degree of cross-unit coordination, communication, and leadership with other staff units and faculty in support of efficiently and effectively implementing the school's goals and mission. Oversee a portfolio of school-based projects that promote the GSM to both campus and the general public by implementing and utilizing innovative technologies, engaging in technical writing and conducting industry research. Conduct project implementations, consultation, evaluation, research and analysis. Act on behalf in the absence of the Senior Director of Project & Instructional Resources.Apply By Date : December 17, 2024 Minimum Qualifications For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license, certification and/or educational degree if required of the position.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience providing staff and instructional operational support to an instructional program in a university setting.
  • Experience in research/instructional resources allocation and management.
  • Advanced computer skills and experience utilizing and implementing technologies such as Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Acrobat, Adobe InDesign and Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge to anticipate/identify issues; compare data to multi source sets of information to draw conclusions, develop goals/plans for resolution and implementation.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, resourcefulness, and judgment to gather and analyze information, develop a wide range of options that are consistent with campus policies, practices, and procedures and to formulate thoughtful/realistic recommendations to clients and management.
  • Skills to map operational processes in a logical manner and integrate tasks into a programmatic context and to establish project plans and timetables to completion, including status tracking and project updates in coordination with other participants.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience writing complex summaries and reports, including the skill to use written language accurately and creatively; command of correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation; and skills in editing and proofing copy/media. Interpersonal, written and verbal skills, and the skill to listen effectively.
  • Experience with safety policies and principles including ergonomic assessments, developing safety protocols/manuals and assist with safety implementation across units.
  • Customer service orientation.Skill to absorb complex technical and conceptual information, identify key issues and details, and present understandable alternatives to individuals of varying technical expertise at all levels of the organization.
  • Skill to work on multiple complex tasks that are not necessarily well defined, under pressure of full workload, tight deadlines and shifting priorities. Organizational and time management skills.
  • Knowledge to understand and translate complex business information to write clear, accurate and compelling copy in an appropriate form for diverse audiences and publications.
