The University of Texas Permian Basin's Department of Residence Life & Dining Services welcomes applications for the position of Assistant Director
Salary Range
$50,000.00 depending on qualifications
Essential Functions
The Assistant Director for Residence Life and Dining Services assists with supporting a healthy and welcoming community in student housing, assists with the coordination of housing assignments and billing, and assists with other administrative responsibilities related to the operation of student housing. This position will supervise operation of apartments, coordinate residential education initiatives and oversite of training and development for resident assistants. This position will supervise a full-time residence life coordinator, graduate assistants and undergraduate resident assistants. The Assistant Director of Residence Life and Dining Services will be required to live on campus rotating on call duties. Meal plan is included.
1. Support all aspects of occupancy management, assignments, operations, housing technology and data management.
2. Develop and oversee all aspects of occupancy management (Fall, Spring Summer)
3. Academic institution communicating and coordinating room selection process for each semester, maintain waiting list as needed
4. Process cancellations withdrawals and room changes and swaps with support from Residence Life Coordinators
5. Assist with and coordination of billing and fee assessments, room condition reports, meal plan assignments, and building turnover.
6. Accurately record past, present and future housing occupancy data to support data analysis and reporting.
Required Qualifications
1. Bachelors degree
2. Demonstrated work history of leadership and supervisory responsibility
Preferred Qualifications
1. Degree in a student personnel/ resident life related field.
2. Two or more years of university residence experience.
3. Supervisory experience.
4. Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.

Schedule
Generally, the normal work hours for the university are Monday through Thursday, 7:30 - 5:30 pm; Friday, 8:00 am - 12:00 pm with a one-hour lunch. The individual holding this position may need to be available early morning, evening, and on weekends to meet the needs of the department. Hours worked may differ with some departments.
Standard Working Conditions
1. Able to lift various materials up to 25 pounds on an occasional basis.
2. Able to bend, crouch, and reach continuously.
3. Physically able remain seated, frequently to continuously.
4. Able to remain standing up to 15% of the time.
5. Possesses dexterity abilities required to perform job duties including extensive keyboard work, operating office equipment, performing filing, and other job-related responsibilities that include extensive wrist and hand movement.
