Job Description:
NYC Health + Hospitals/Virtual ExpressCare (vEC) is uniquely positioned to address the urgent physical, mental, emotional or other health needs of all New Yorkers. vEC started as a convenient, on-demand access point for medical urgent care and is now expanding to provide around-the-clock virtual care for patients urgent mental, emotional, behavioral health needs with access to high-quality, affordable virtual urgent mental health and substance use care services. vEC is a major growth outlet for NYC Health + Hospitals and allows the system to meet patients where they are, outside of the four walls of hospitals and health centers. The service is available to patients through a designated website or over phone without the need for internet or a smart phone, while in the patients preferred language.
Reporting directly to the vEC Executive Director, the Assistant Director assists senior leadership, centrally and across facilities to implement, evaluate and seek ways to improve service delivery that constitutes system-wide behavioral health transformation and improves public health outcomes.
General tasks and responsibilities will include:
Minimum Qualifications:
1. A Master s degree from an accredited college or university in Healthcare, Hospital, Public or Business Administration, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Organizational Behavior or a related discipline and three (3) years of full-time experience planning, developing and monitoring programs, systems and/or procedures in support of administrative management initiatives, one (1) year of which must have been in a responsible managerial or supervisory capacity; or
2. A Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university in disciplines, as listed in 1 above and four (4) years of full-time experience, as outlined in 1 above, two (2) years of which must have been in a responsible managerial or supervisory capacity; or
3. A satisfactory equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.
Department Preferences
Preference will be given to qualified candidates with the following knowledge, abilities, education, experience and/or skills:
A Master s Degree with a specialization in Public Health, Hospital Administration, Health Care Administration, or Social Work from an approved college or university
Knowledge of fundamentals of public health programming and evaluation, epidemiological data analysis and data translation
Prior experience working in a telemedicine program for at least one year
Prior experience in practice management
Healthcare operations
Behavioral health conditions and treatment modalities
Proficiency in Microsoft Suite
