This full-time, year-round position is not just a job but an opportunity to develop your skills and grow in your career.SummaryWe seek a detail-oriented and diligent individual to join our team. This role involves ensuring the overall appearance of all vessels and the surrounding yard and facility. Responsibilities include assisting with winterization in the fall and preparing our fleet of 60 boats for launch in the spring. During the boating season, the role will transition to a dockmaster. You will ensure dockstaff execute cleaning and inspection protocols on our fleet of boats. You will play a key role in keeping the boats in excellent condition for Freedom Boat Club members while ensuring the facility remains safe and efficient. This position can be physically demanding and may require working in tight spaces. You will be responsible for adequately maintaining all vessels throughout the pre-season, in-season, and post-season to help extend the fleet's lifespan.To be a successful Assistant Dock Operations Manager, you should provide excellent customer service, be courteous, responsible, and detail-oriented, and uphold our commitment to customer satisfaction.RequirementsEssential duties and responsibilities : Dock Operation Management :
  • Overseeing the operation of boat docks, including maintenance, repairs, and cleanliness.
  • Ensuring all boats are properly stored, maintained, and ready for members to use.
  • Managing boat launches, retrievals, and docking, ensuring efficient and safe handling.
Customer Service :
  • Assisting club members with boat reservations and general inquiries.
  • Ensuring members and guests have an exceptional experience at the locations, providing a high level of customer service.
  • Addressing member concerns and complaints, as well as troubleshooting issues related to boat usage, facilities, and services
Staff Supervision :
  • Assisting in the hiring, training, and scheduling dockhands or other staff.
  • Providing leadership and guidance to staff, ensuring high standards of operation.
  • Supervising staff in day-to-day activities and ensuring they follow company protocols and safety guidelines.
Safety and Compliance :
  • Monitoring safety protocols related to boating, docking, and marina operations.
  • Ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal boating and marina operations regulations.
  • Conducting regular inspections of the fleet of equipment, including life jackets, fire extinguishers, and emergency response procedures.
Inventory and Equipment Management :
  • Overseeing the boats, equipment, and supplies inventory, ensuring stock is maintained and replenished.
  • Coordinating maintenance schedules for boats to ensure optimal performance.
Reporting and Administration :
  • Assisting the Operations Manager with reporting on performance metrics and operational issues.
  • Maintaining records of boat usage, maintenance, member interactions, and daily operations.
  • Helping with budgeting and cost management for marina operations.

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Previous experience in marina operations, boating, or customer service roles is often preferred.
  • Already have or are willing to acquire U.S. Coast Guard MMC OUPV (6 Pack) license
  • Management or supervisory experience in a related industry would be a plus.
