Compensation:
* Annual Salary Range: $60,000.00 - $67,000.00
* Note: Salary can vary depending upon education, experience, or qualifications.

Position Description:
* Acts as assistant to the Director in various administrative duties. Answers inquiries relating to the Kansas Real Estate Appraisal Board's license act and regulations of the Board from attorneys, the public and licensed/certified appraisers, the Appraisal Subcommittee, other state regulatory boards, federal financial institutions, etc. Review and replies to correspondence. Assists in writing new and amendments to regulations; determines the need for new or amended regulations; and assumes in writing and filing of temporary and permanent regulations. Testifies at legislative subcommittee hearings. Assigns appraisal reviews to the contracted review appraiser.
* Prepares and develops supporting data and presents budget estimates and requests. Reviews bills and prepares vouchers for payment. Logs and tracts receipts received and makes deposits to the state treasurer's office. Assists with fiscal activities and manages the budget.
* Assists the Director in conducting Board meetings. Attends and keeps records of meetings held by the Board. Assists and coordinates disciplinary hearings. Keeps records of all proceedings, hearings, meetings, communications, agreements and official acts of the Board. Prepares and monitors documents associated with disciplinary actions. Follows up to ensure that all requirements of said documents are met within the time frame allowed. If not, returns documents to the Board for further disciplinary action.
* Develops and maintains procedures for obtaining course approval. Develops, maintains, and updates forms and other material necessary to fulfill this duty. Responsible for the correspondence associated with course approval. Determines the need for new or amended regulations relating to education. Compiles data and prepares written reports detailing findings and conclusions obtained from course evaluations and course monitoring. Approves education and/or brings applications for course approval to the Board.
* Works with contracted review appraisers and attorneys to assist the Board as necessary and works with Procurement and Contracts to ensure that annual contracts meet all state requirements
* Responsible for computer software developing and maintaining a database for tracking licenses appraisers, appraisal management companies and education providers and their courses
* Maintains appraiser and appraisal management company's registry records and ensures that uploads to the Appraisal Subcommittee involving new records, renewals, and disciplinary actions
* Coordinates, develops and updates informational material, forms, applications, licensees, etc. Prepares and distributes informational material including the newsletters. Updates and maintain the agency website.
* Works with KBI to ensure that the processing of fingerprint cards is handled in the manner required by KBI procedures and maintains criminal history reports security.
* Performs other duties in support of the agency's statutes and regulations or as the Director or Board requires.
Minimum Qualifications
* 5 years of work experience
* Experience and training in SHARP & SMART programs is a key skill set
Preferred Qualifications
* 4-year college degree in business or related field
* Experience with SHaRP, SMART, Regulations and MLO database
Special Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
* Experience in Licensing
* Budget experience
