The Assistant Designer/Technical Designer will assist the senior designer in the design and execution of
seasonal collections (4x/year). This role is a hybrid design/tech design role, assisting the senior designer
in both designing the collections and providing technical/fit comments to factories for production. We
are seeking a highly organized, self-sufficient, creative candidate with a strong work ethic.
Role/Responsibilities:
Contribute in all aspects & stages of the design process under guidance of the Senior
Designer. Collaborate on concept research, trends, fabrics, yarns, trims, & colors.
Conduct market research to stay informed about current trends and competitor offerings.
Communicate fabric and yarn needs seasonally to overseas factories for sourcing.
Manage linesheet from creation through finalization of season.
CAD all sketches for linesheet; create artworks (print, pattern, and stripes) and collaborate
with Sr. Designer on coloring each style.
Assists in the preparation of design specification sheets, including BOMs, style callouts, and
style specifications under supervision of Sr. Designer.
Spec and prepare prototypes for fittings
Attends all style fittings and provides input/feedback as necessary; Keeps detailed notes
from all fittings.
Responsible for organizing and maintaining inspiration garments, fabric/yarn headers and
trims library.
In collaboration with Sales Team, responsible for organization of showroom and seasonal
samples. Ensure all samples are prepared for buyer meetings.
Assists Sr. Designer and Social Media Manager in planning photoshoots. Assist in styling,
finding photoshoot locations, and hiring of models/photographers.
Assist Sr. Designer in creation of seasonal Lookbooks (x2/year)
Follow up on outstanding development and production issues.
Track incoming shipments and properly label/organize new styles; work with Managing
Partner to prepare outgoing shipments.
Ensure the processes are as efficient and productive as possible to meet seasonal
deliverables.
Handle other responsibilities or projects, as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities/Education:
Bachelor s Degree in Fashion Design or Technical Design
1+ years of experience in related field (internships accepted)
Knitwear (fully fashioned) experience preferred
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Strong attention to detail and follow through
Interfaces professionally and works effectively in group settings.
High taste level and creative ability.
Knowledge/experience in garment specing, tech packs, and garment construction
Ability to multi-task between Creative and Technical Design needs
Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop & Illustrator) & Microsoft Office (Excel)
Candidate must be authorized to work in the US without additional sponsorship/visa
requirements
