The Olmsted Township Board of Trustees is soliciting highly motivated candidates for the role of Assistant Fire Chief within the Township Fire Department. The successful candidate will have a proven record in the Fire Service and a recognized commitment to excellence in public service. The Assistant Fire Chief will function as the second-in-command of day-to-day operations of the Township Fire Department. The Assistant Fire Chief will provide leadership to Township Fire Department Staff, and perform duties assigned by Fire Chief.
Education & Experience Qualifications
Required: Possession of High School Diploma or GED with Associates Degree in Public Administration, Fire Science or accredited credentialed equivalent in related field if candidate does not have an appropriate Bachelor's Degree.
Preferred: Ten (10) years of progressively responsible command and supervisory experience in a full-time department (up to two [2] years credit for Bachelor's degree in public administration or fire services, with a majority of time served as Fire Lieutenant or higher level position; or any
Required: Must have and maintain EMT-Paramedic Licensure.
Required: Must NFPA 1021 Ohio Fire Officer II certification or equivalent as well as State of Ohio Fire Instructor certification or successful completion of NFPA 1041 compliant Fire Instructor II course
Required: Must be NIMS Certified 100, 200, 300, 400, 700, 800
Preferred: NFPA1021 Ohio Fire Officer III; NFPA1021 Ohio Fire Officer IV; Ohio Fire Exec./Fire Officer Exec.
Other Qualifications: Valid State of Ohio Driver's License and ability to maintain insurability under the Township's Vehicle insurance policy.
Salary Range/Benefits: $85,000.00 to 95,000.00 dependent upon experience and qualifications. The Township also offers excellent benefits including health insurance.
