Job Description:

Southwestern University is seeking two candidates for the position of Assistant Football Coach. Reporting to the Head Coach the incumbent serves as the Assistant Coach of the football program, providing support to the head coach in developing and executing team strategies, conducting practice sessions, and fostering student-athlete growth both on and off the field. This role involves assisting with game preparation, player development, recruitment efforts, and maintaining compliance with NCAA regulations and university policies. This is a 12-month, full-time, exempt position with benefits.

Primary Duties:

* Provides skill instruction and conditioning work consistent with a high-performing NCAA Division III varsity athletic program.

* Recruits and retains highly talented athletes who also have the academic acumen to thrive at SU.

* Participates in fundraising activities to support program objectives.

* Assists in ensuring compliance with all university, conference, and NCAA policies, procedures, and bylaws.

* Provides mentorship to our students by modeling professionalism and high moral standards.

* Supports classroom excellence by utilizing all available university resources in support of students.

* Serves as an Administrator in Charge (AIC) of select events during the year.

* Participates on campus committees as requested.

* Serves as an instructor for ESS or FRA classes if qualified.

* Performs other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

* Bachelor's Degree.

* Proven experience in coaching and ability to demonstrate proper techniques unique to the sport.

* Possess current CPR/AED/ First Aid certification or willingness to become certified within three months of hire.

* Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

* Knowledge of NCAA regulations

* Demonstrate knowledge, understanding, and respect for cultural differences and diversity within a university setting.

Preferred Position Requirement:

* Collegiate or professional playing experience in the sport

* Experience in recruiting college-level varsity athletes.
