Job Title: Assistant Football Coach

Department: Athletics

Reports To: Head Football Coach

Location: Ellsworth Community College, Iowa Falls, IA

Rate of Pay: Stipend

Summary: The Assistant Coach will be responsible for assisting the head coach in the recruitment and retention of a full competitive roster. Follows all Iowa Valley Community College District (IVCCD), Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC), and National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) rules and regulations in administering the program. Supports the development of the student athletes. Assist with the coordination of travel, game schedule, recruiting, inventory and maintenance of equipment. Assist with game management duties.

Job Duties: Assists Head Coach in cultivating an environment for successful recruitment and retention of student athletes. Supports the development of student athletes' success in the classroom and in their respective sport. Provides for program needs within allocated budget and assists with program and department fundraising. Develops on and off campus relationships that support the success of the position. Assists Housing Department as needed.

Education and Experience: Associate's degree required; Bachelors preferred. College coaching and scholarship management preferred.

Certifications and Licenses: Valid Iowa driver license required or ability to obtain. CPR/AED certification is required.

Abilities: Knowledge of and ability to follow college, ICCAC, and NJCAA policies and procedures. Knowledge of intercollegiate football program. Ability to relate to a diverse population and to maintain composure when faced with difficult situations. Ability to effectively identify and resolve problems and to maintain strict confidentiality related to sensitive information.
