Northern State University is accepting applications for the Football Offensive Coordinator position.
The Offensive Coordinator is a vital position within the college football program. This individual will be responsible for coordinating a championship caliber offense, ensuring that the team performs at its best during games. The Offensive Coordinator will be evaluated based on the competitiveness of the program, the dedication to the mission, vision, and values of the program, overall student-athlete development in sport, school, and life, and for establishing a subculture in which the coach is viewed by the student-athletes as a mentor, educator, and role model.
One of the key responsibilities of the Offensive Coordinator/Associate Head Coach will be to coordinate and run the annual golf outing. This event plays a crucial role in the fundraising efforts of NSU Football, and the offensive coordinator will be responsible for organizing and executing a successful outing.
Overall, the Offensive Coordinator is an integral part of the coaching staff and will contribute significantly to the success of the football program. The ideal candidate should possess strong leadership skills, strategic thinking abilities, a deep knowledge of offensive football strategies, analytics, decision-making, a commitment to compliance with all NCAA, NSIC and University rules and regulations as well as dedication to academic development of student-athletes.

Northern is one of 16-member institutions of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) including: Augustana (S.D.); Bemidji State (Minn.); Concordia-St. Paul (Minn.); Minnesota, Crookston; Minnesota-Duluth; Minnesota State Mankato; Minnesota State Moorhead; University of Mary (N.D.); Minot State (N.D.); Sioux Falls (S.D.); Southwest Minnesota State; St. Cloud State (Minn.); Upper Iowa; Wayne State (Neb.) and Winona State (Minn.). In fall 1995, Northern State and all NSIC teams received full membership in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) at the Division II level.
Through generous donor support, Northern has transformed its athletic facilities in recent years. As of July 2021, more than $60 million has been raised for the Educational Impact Campaign, a transformational project that has resulted in a $40 million on-campus regional sports complex, including the new Dacotah Bank Stadium for football and Koehler Hall of Fame softball field, opening in August 2021. It has also resulted in a state-of-theart football practice and soccer competition facility, the $6.5 million Athletic and Recreation Fields, which was completed in October 2018.
Numerous facility improvements have also been made to the Barnett Center, including a $525,000 renovation to Wachs Arena and Don Meyer Court in 2019, which involved removing the entire concrete floor of the arena and replacing with a new maple, Robbins MVP parquet style floor that is level with the track surface. Also, $800,000 in technology upgrades were finished in 2019, including a new center-hung Daktronics 4-sided videoboard display, the largest collegiate center-hung in the state of South Dakota.
