Job Description:

College of the Sequoias is seeking candidates to fill a full-time, tenure-track position in the Physical Education/Athletics Department beginning January 10th, 2025. In-person interviews will be conducted December 10th on the COS Visalia Campus.

The starting salary for this position is between $85,715.66 and $113,009.44 - dependent upon experience and education (please see Faculty Salary Schedule on the COS Human Resources website for more details).

Duties include, but not limited to:

* Teaching courses in the Physical Education Division.

* Support the COS Head Football Coach, and COS Football Program with recruiting, on field coaching, practice planning, monitoring student athlete academic progress, weight and conditioning programs, scouting and developing game plans and any other duties assigned by the Head Football Coach.

* Teaching assignments may be at any COS campus including Hanford and Tulare.

* Assignment may include evening classes and weekends.

* Other responsibilities include participation in the governance of the college by way of committee assignments.

Minimum Qualifations

The candidate must meet the following criteria. (The degree must be from an accredited institution).

* Master's in physical education, exercise science, education with an emphasis in physical education, kinesiology, physiology of exercise or adaptive physical education, OR

* Bachelor's in any of the above AND Master's in any life science, dance, physiology, health education, recreation administration or physical therapy, OR

* The equivalent AND

* Demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of, the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students which pursuant to Title 5 53022 is a core system competency and job requirement.

Desirable Qualifications

* Demonstrated experience in implementing effective recruiting strategies for prospective football student athletes.

* Demonstrated ability to implement, execute, and monitor a strength and conditioning program for a college football team.

* Evidence of successful football coaching experience with coordinator level experience preferred.

* Demonstrated experience in monitoring academic progress of student athletes.

* Successful teaching experience with commitment to professional growth in football coaching and teaching.

* Awareness of the mission and objectives of the College of the Sequoias District.

* Willingness to create and maintain positive relationships with student-athletes, athletic staff, and the college community.

* Ability to make a positive contribution to the instructional programs at College of the Sequoias.
