The Opportunity

Reporting to the Vice President, Legal – Labor and Employment, the Assistant General Counsel – Labor & Employment, provides confidential counsel to management and the People team to ensure compliance and agreement on our goals on all major initiatives relating to team members. You will identify potential legal issues related to business practices and advise management and the People team, and help support TMR in developing strategies and solutions to all team member relations matters. You will also implement employment-related contracts, including employment agreements, independent contractor agreements, consultant and service provider agreements, retention agreements, benefits agreements, separation and severance agreements.

Your Impact
  • Draft, monitor, update and provide guidance on company policies, procedures, notifications and required documentation.
  • Draft routine and progressively complex documents, and negotiate routine and progressively complex matters independently. Lead process of implementing company contracts and other legal documents.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and industry changes in labor relations.
  • Ad hoc assistance with employment litigation, including reviewing and editing pleadings, discovery and other matters; arrange for outside counsel, including budgeting; serve as liaison between company team members and outside counsel; resolve claims and disputes before litigation when possible.
  • Provide legal and strategic guidance on all issues affecting team members and employment in general. Draft, interpret and advise on employment policies.
  • Direct and advise on the investigation and resolution of internal and external complaints related to team members.
  • Ad hoc guidance executive compensation and total reward related matters: Provide counsel to Total Rewards team regarding drafting, enforcing and application of total reward plans and practices.
  • Develop and implement strategies to further QRG's team member relations philosophies, and to ensure our team is prepared to respond to labor related activities.
  • Ad hoc coordination with outside counsel.
  • Ad hoc guidance to paralegals and administrative assistants.
What You Bring
  • Juris Doctorate
  • Bar admission (preferably in Pennsylvania)
  • 5+ years of experience investigating agency complaints, including EEOC, DOL, wage & hour, OSHA, etc.
  • 5+ years of experience responding to agency requests, facilitating an agency investigations, and monitor proceedings.
  • 5+ years of experience providing legal and strategic guidance on all issues affecting team members and employment in general.
  • 5+ years experience providing support for immigration needs and ensuring compliance with all work authorization laws.
