This role will serve as the lead litigation attorney on a wide range of matters for a growing multinational enterprise and will also provide ad hoc legal advice and support on a variety of non-litigation matters. This position can be located in Connecticut, New York or remote-based.Primary Responsibilities:Manage and oversee a diverse portfolio of litigation matters, including contractual and commercial disputes, policy-related disputes, class actions and other legal proceedings.Develop and implement litigation strategies in collaboration with internal and external teams.Provide legal advice and support to senior management on litigation-related matters. Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the company's interests are effectively represented and protected.Draft and review a variety of legal documentation, including pleadings, motions, briefs settlement agreements and litigation-related correspondence.Supervise and manage outside counsel, including monitoring performance, controlling costs, and ensuring alignment with company objectives. Handle and assess complaints and other matters that may lead to litigation, working proactively to resolve potential disputes before they escalate into formal legal actions. Conduct legal research and stay abreast of relevant law, regulations and industry trends. Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures to minimize risk of future litigation matters.Provide trainings and guidance to internal teams on litigation-related topics and best practices. Provide ad hoc legal advice and support on other miscellaneous non-litigation matters, including employment law and commercial contracts. Qualifications:Juris Doctorate required with a license in good standing within the applicable stateMinimum of 6 years of experience in litigation and disputes matters, preferably with a focus on reinsurance or insurance matters Readily able to manage tight deadlines and shifting prioritiesSuperior written and communication skillsAttention to detail for adherence to ensure high-quality work outputCompensation The annualized base pay range is mainly based on an evaluation of comparable positions in the external market. The actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range. The base pay is based on factors including but not limited to experience, competence, and demonstration of proficiencies essential for the role. The base pay is just one component of the company's total annual compensation for employees. Other compensation may include annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and recognition.
