The hospitality group behind the acclaimed New York City restaurants, Llama Inn and Llama San is expanding its footprint with the upcoming Papa San, a Peruvian Izakaya set to open in early 2025 on 34th Street and 10Th Avenue (in The Spiral building). We are currently looking to hire a talented and experienced Assistant General Manager to start on or around mid to late December 2024.
The Assistant General Manager will play a pivotal role in the restaurant's day-to-day operations. As a member of the team, they will spearhead initiatives, drive development, and ensure the seamless operation of the restaurant.
Responsibilities
Day to Day:
- Supervise service 4/5 shifts a week
- Handle FOH team schedule, evaluating labor need for the day as it relates to expected covers
- Support GM on a variety of tasks, including, service improvement, training of staff and administrative tasks
- Working with the Matre d in maximizing reservations and having a clear point of actions for the host for the day
- Creating an educational pre-shift to encourage excellent service and dive sales
- Establish an important presence on the floor, driving guest experience and resolving service issues that arise
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 4-5 years of experience in full-service restaurant management as either a service manager, AGM, or formal dining restaurant manager
- High volume experience of 200-300 covers per night preferred
- Proven leadership ability and track record, especially as it pertains to managing hourly employees
- Mid to strong cost analysis skills as it relates to labor, COGS, CGS, & Comps; with the eagerness to learn more.
- Experience with scheduling
- Knowledge and experience with our various systems is preferred (Toast, Resy, Binwise)
- Ability to effectively manage a large team and delegate responsibilities.
- A keen sense of ownership, attention to detail and follow through.
