Position Summary
Belmont Abbey College, an NCAA Division II institution and member of the Conference Carolinas, invites applications for the position of Assistant Golf Coach.
Job Responsibilities
The successful candidate for this position will report to the Head Men's and Women's Golf Coach and collaborate with coach and staff to achieve the overall mission and strategic goals of the College and athletic department. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to; Maintain professional working relationships with athletic training, academics and respective coaching staffs. Demonstrate the ability to clearly and professionally communicate with student-athletes, administration and academic advisors. The Assistant Golf Coach aids in the growth and development of both golf programs and its student-athletes by assisting with the planning and direction of team activities. The primary duty of the Assistant Golf Coach is instructing student-athletes in the skills and strategies unique to competition in the sport.
Qualifications
The incumbent must fulfill these responsibilities while adhering to all rules, guidelines, and principles as set forth by the NCAA, Conference Carolinas and Belmont Abbey College. Preference will be given to those candidates who can demonstrate a strategic vision for the day-to-day operations of a growing athletics department. This vision must complement the institution's mission and character as a distinctively Catholic and Benedictine college which views sport as a means of developing virtue. The successful candidate must demonstrate initiative and self-motivation. Successful background as a collegiate golfer and/or coach at the NCAA Division I, II, or III level; thorough knowledge of the sport; Strong communication and organizational skills.
