The Cullan  at Mineral Mound State Park is located on the shores of Lake Barkley in Western Kentucky near Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area. This 18-hole Michael Hurdzan designed course features Tifeagle ultradwarf greens with Tifway II bermudagrass tees, fairways, and rough. A capital project is underway in winter 2024/2025 to complete course-wide bunker renovation, solidifying this golf course as one of the best in Kentucky.Position Overview: Assists Golf Course Superintendent in all phases of golf maintenance and agronomic operations, cost control, and personnel management. Leads staff and performs duties in the care and maintenance of turf, ornamental plants, shrubs, trees, and wetlands on the facility grounds under the guidance of the Golf Course Superintendent.Key Responsibilities:Leads staff in projects and routine maintenance activities.Calibrates and operates equipment necessary to apply chemicals and fertilizers.Applies irrigation water in accordance with procedures.Diagnoses irrigation repair needs and performs repairs.Directs, trains, and assists maintenance personnel in routine care and maintenance work for the golf course.Inspects machinery and equipment to determine their operating condition and repair needs.Purchases supplies for the park and golf course.Performs public relations functions in the absence of the Golf Course Superintendent.Prepares operating records and reports of park and golf activities.Prepares reports, summaries, and recommendations pertaining to golf course development.Minimum Requirements:Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.Must obtain Kentucky Pesticide Applicator License within six months of employment.Must maintain required licensure(s), certification(s), or other credentials for the length of employment.Some travel required for turf and department meetings and conferences.Overtime and weekends required periodically.Work is typically performed outdoors.Application Instructions: An official application must be completed prior to the application deadline of Jan 5, 2025, at 7 PM EST.
