About the Position: The full time, seasonal , Assistant Golf Professional assists in the management of day-to-day golf operations at the facility. All duties of the position shall be performed with a commitment to the highest level of member and guest service with a focus on total customer satisfaction. This position is designed to provide the necessary exposure, experience and preparation for the individual to pursue future growth and development within the golf industry.This position reports to: Sr. Director, GolfAbout Grey Oaks Country Club: Considered one of the premier Country Clubs in Florida, Grey Oaks opened in 1993 and encompasses the Grey Oaks and Estuary communities, along with 54 holes of championship golf. The Club's facilities include a 63,000-square-foot east clubhouse, 12,000-square-foot golf pro shop, golf performance center, 30,000-square-foot wellness center, sports center, and the pool caf, a 22,000-square-foot complex with indoor and outdoor dining overlooking an expansive resort-style pool with a wading entrance, waterfall, and lap lanes. Your wisdom is clearly understanding what you know and what you don't know, and making sure that the right person handles the right problem.RequirementsPrimary Responsibilities: Fundamental knowledge of the game of golf, rules of golf, golf facility operations and tournament operationsConduct oneself in a professional manner and maintain a professional image at all timesService and customer focused attitudeGreet all Members and Guests by name and in a professional and friendly mannerExperienced computer skills including; Microsoft Word and Excel. Proficient in other applications, i.e. email, internet, tournament, database & POSStrong organizational, planning and prioritization skillsWork with and assist in coordinating golf activities with other departmentsAssist with all opening / closing procedures and POS operationAccurately manage the North Star tee time systemAssist with all golf shop merchandising and display creationsSelf-motivated with desire to promote and market golf shop merchandiseAssist in the inventory control of hard goods, soft goods, and special orders including: ordering procedures, receiving procedures, point of sale transactions, pricing procedures, display and salesAssist in managing facility tournament operations.Proficiency in the operation of tournament software (Golf Genius preferred, but not mandatory)Assist in tournament planning, promotion, preparation, scoring, announcements, billing, and follow-upAssist with management of outside service staff to ensure the highest quality of customer service is achievedAssist in managing golf car fleet operation, practice facility, and club storage serviceMaintain a credible golf game and remain current on teaching innovationsMaintain and promote a positive professional image within the communityProvide golf instruction and play with Members and Guests upon requestsAdditional Competencies: To perform the job successfully, this position is expected to demonstrate the following competencies:Excellent verbal and written communication skillsExcellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skillsExcellent time management skills with the proven ability to meet deadlinesStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to keep issues confidential; a master of discretionProficient with MS Office and related softwareEducation/ Experience: Minimum 3 years' experience of professional HR administration required, with experience at a large organization (500+ employees) strongly preferredA Bachelor's Degree desirable but not requiredExperience working at high end private clubs or in the hospitality industry desiredCompensation & Benefits Grey Oaks has an attractive compensation, benefits program, 401k plan with a generous matching contribution, a great work environment and the opportunity to work and learn from some of the best in the industry.
