Description Assistant House Manager ACCOUNTABLE TO: Program Manager QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma and at least 1 year of relatable experience REQUIRED TRAINING: Agency Orientation, First Aid, CPR, Abuse & Neglect, HIPAA, Positive Behavior Support, Level 1 Medication Aide, and valid Class E operator's license. GENERAL SCOPE OF POSITION: Responsible for assisting the House Manager in the general day-to-day operation of the home providing 24 hour supports for 1-6 individuals with developmental disabilities. Supports and Services Knows, respects, and supports each individual's personal plan. This includes preparing documentation and engaging in the personal planning process to ensure each individual's needs and rights are intact and have an optimal quality of life. Assists with Ensuring documentation for each individual in the home is completed and updated, including medical, financial, daily documentation, etc. Assists with ensuring nutritious meals are prepared daily, according to the dietary needs of the individuals in the home. Assists individuals with portraying a positive image. Assists with providing an environment of safety and security for all individuals. Assists with coordinating activities, including transportation, equipment, and funding. Be available to respond to staff in case of an emergency. Personnel: Assists with providing training and oversight to staff as needed in the day to day operation of the home, as well as any other training necessary to enhance the quality of life for the individual being supported. Assists with checking time clocks for accuracy and fixes mistakes. Assists staff in finding coverage for call ins. Assists with maintaining appropriate documentation reflecting employee performance (positives and negatives) Health and Safety: Ensure home reflects a safe, clean, and healthy environment. Ensure vehicle is in good repair and operate in safe manner, following the Vehicle Guidelines. Report any maintenance, health, and/or safety needs. Assists with ensuring fire and storm drills and conducted and documented appropriately. Quality Assurance Functions: Maintain confidentiality of all consumers' Protected Health Information used for treatment, payment, health care, etc. as set up by the Health Insurance Portability Accountability Act of 1996. (HIPAA) Assists with maintaining communication with family members, guardians, staff, Service Coordinator about issues or concerns. Assists with preparing documentation that is required by contract, funding source, and/or or regulation General: Provides a positive, appropriate relationship with families, the community, DMH personnel, and fellow staff members. Cooperates with public relations efforts, as requested. Attends staff meetings, trainings, etc. as requested. Cognizant of the costs of operating the home. Considers Quality Outcomes in all decision making. Stays awake during normal work hours.
