Assistant Human Resources Manager to join our team located at our facility in Louisville, KY.
Your Role:As an Assistant Human Resources Manager, you will be responsible for managing employee relations, labor relations, recruiting, and training and development of employees. We embrace and accept individual experiences and backgrounds to achieve a diverse and inclusive workplace.
You will have the opportunity to:- Support a Plant of 750+ employees.
- Serve as a link between management and employees by handling questions, interpreting, and administering contracts and helping resolve work-related problems such as benefits, work schedules, change of status, safety, respect in the workplace, performance management, leave management, and grievance resolution.
- Achieve staffing objectives by recruiting and evaluating all exempt and non-exempt candidates, advising managers, managing relocations and intern programs.
- Oversee the hiring process for hourly positions.
- Plan, direct, and coordinate the development of goals and performance of HR staff including periodic performance review.
- Conduct internal investigations.
- Planning company events such as retirement/anniversary parties, lunches, and hotel accommodations.
- Advocate for employees and promote a diverse and inclusive culture.

We need you to have:- BA/BS degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, or a related field.
- Minimum 8+ years of experience as a progressive HR professional; experience in a unionized, manufacturing plant environment of 100+ employees.
- 3+ years as a manager or leader of people operations.
- Excellent capabilities in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Outlook.
- Knowledge of applicable state, federal, and local employment labor laws and regulations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills and the ability to communicate and influence at all levels within the organization.
- Skills in handling conflict resolution situations.
- Ability to objectively coach employees and management through complex and difficult issues.
- Ability to be discreet with confidential information and sensitive issues.
Icing on the cake:- MBA or other advanced degree.
- PHR or SPHR/SHRM-CP or SCP certification.
- 8-10+ years of experience as a progressive HR professional in a unionized manufacturing plant environment.
- Experience using ADP.
