Summary:
Manages all aspects of recreational sports programs for students, faculty and staff members of the University. Coordinates scheduling of recreation facilities, reservation system, leagues, special programs and facility maintenance.Duties and Responsibilities:
* Supervises the activities of subordinates.
* Manages the organization of multi-recreational athletic programs which includes intramural sports, daily open recreation and special programs.
* Establishes policies and procedures for participation in recreation programs for recreational staff and participants.
* Establishes guidelines to coordinate the scheduling of campus recreation facilities with facility coordinators.
* Prepares and monitors department budget by projecting needs and monitoring expenditures; determines staffing needs and oversees payroll for recreation staff; allocates funds for daily operational expenses.
* Monitors the maintenance and cleanliness of recreational athletic fields and facilities; determines needs for facility and equipment repairs.
* Participates in long range recreation facility and program planning; makes decisions on future programming as it relates to funding, facilities and student needs.
* Assists clubs in the Club Sport Program in developing facility and practice schedules.
* Coordinates an open recreation program at several recreational sites.
Minimum Position Requirements (including certifications, licenses, etc.):
Bachelor's degree in Physical Education or related field AND three years experience in developing and coordinating recreational and sports programs which includes one year supervisory experienceEssential Functions:
