Duties and Responsibilities:
We are seeking an energetic and enthusiastic in-house legal counsel who is interested in working in a fast paced, dynamic growing company. A primary responsibility for this position is the focus on contract drafting, review and negotiations. In addition, the selected legal counsel for this position will have a wide range of assignments and responsibilities to support and coordinate the Legal needs of the company including review of employment & labor laws. This position reports to our Quincy office location.
- Draft, review, revise, and negotiate contracts, including, but not limited to, NDAs, engagement letters, service contracts, government contracts, vendor contracts, supplier contracts, leases, and contract amendments.
- Manage, maintain, and update the company's contract templates.
- Serve as a liaison between various teams and leadership to ensure contracts meet legal and company standards.
- Draft legal memoranda and draft, review, and revise legal documents and responses.
- Research legal issues impacting the company and stay updated on legislative and regulatory changes.
- Provide sound and practical legal advice to company departments.
- Assist in developing and improving compliance processes, policies, and guidance to minimize legal exposure.
- Assist in handling legal disputes, investigating claims, and draft related documents and responses.
- Assist with pre-litigation or litigation work as needed.
- Perform company registration and corporate governance matters as needed.
- Organize and maintain legal records.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the General Counsel.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- Juris Doctorate (J.D.) or LLM degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
- Active license to practice law in at least one U.S. state bar (preferably Massachusetts bar)
- 2+ years' legal practice experience working in a law firm, company, or government entity.
- Strong legal drafting, and analysis skills.
- Working experience in government contracts, contract negotiations, corporate law, employment law, data privacy, or litigation.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of employees.
- Be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
- Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
