The Cato Institute seeks a dynamic Assistant Live-Event Producer to join the Audio/ Visual Production team. The individual in this role will, in cooperation with the live production team, produce, manage, and direct live event coverage and content for Cato.org and associated outlets; help develop the visual style of Cato's live events for both in-person and streaming audiences; and research, build, and pitch motion graphics styles and motifs for the same.This is a hybrid position in Washington, DC. - Create and develop multimedia (audio/video) content that appeals to in-person and streaming viewers for use in Cato's live events.
- Record and edit video and audio files from live events, including selecting program format for final output, capturing/importing media, organizing raw media, inserting static and motion graphics, titling, media management, and archiving project media for post-event wrap-ups.
- Assist in operating lighting, video, audio, motion graphics, and motion control supporting Cato's live events.
- Provide editing and other production services as required/available for video content related to breaking news and other policy-related products.
RequirementsEducation/ Experience
- 1 to 3 years of work experience; live event production experience is a plus.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop) or Davinci Resolve.
- Experience with Ross Robotics, Q-Sys AV Control, and Barco S-series control systems is a plus.
