Job Description:

Reporting to the Director of Events & Conferencing/General Manager, the Assistant Manager, Arena Events & Operations supports event logistics and planning for the Arena. Key responsibilities include venue rental sales, event planning and management, event coverage, scheduling, and daily venue operations. This role requires excellent customer service to ensure a positive experience for clients, patrons, and artists. While working in a team environment, the Assistant Manager must also work independently, often under tight deadlines. The position involves a flexible schedule, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays, and requires a solid understanding of event production, logistics, and industry best practices. Additional duties may be assigned by the Director/General Manager.

Harford Community College employees must reside in Maryland or contiguous states (Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, or Washington, DC), or be willing to relocate. Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.

Required Education:

  • Bachelor's degree

Required Experience:

  • Minimum of three years in event planning and management, overseeing large-scale events, coordinating with rental clients and artist representatives, scheduling, and creating event diagrams/floorplans.

Required Skills:

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities
  • Experience in hiring, training, and supervising staff
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, SharePoint, Excel)
  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
