Roles and Responsibilities:
+ Plans, directs, and supervises scheduled/unscheduled repairs on assigned equipment.
+ Plans and directs FRA required periodic inspections. Performs Quality Assurance inspections on assigned equipment for compliance with established standards.
+ Coordinates equipment manipulation with the Mechanical and Transportation Departments to ensure effective equipment utilization, complete consists, and to maximize schedule compliance for Terminal Department.
+ Maintains force inventory and operates within overtime and material budgets for favorable variances.
+ Assumes responsibility for turnaround and layover servicing on assigned equipment.
+ Assumes responsibility for safety of assigned employees, equipment, and passengers.
+ Provides all written communications, productivity reports and other areas of coordination to Mechanical and Line Division.
+ Provides for training of subordinates and craft workers through scheduling and mentoring.
Education, Experience, and Qualifications:
+ Associate Degree in Business Administration, Mechanical Engineering or related technical area, or graduate of an accredited mechanical trade school
+ Five (5) years' experience in rail equipment maintenance including three (3) years of supervisory experience.
+ Two Years of closely related experience can be substituted for each year of education required.
