Job Title: ASSISTANT MANAGER Location: A Woman's Place Drop-In Center, 211 13th St. Reports to: Deputy Director of Drop-In Services Status: Non-exempt, Non-union Hourly Wage: $33.65 Hours: 11:00 pm-7:00 am Community Forward SF is a collection of vital programs that ensures our neighbors experiencing homelessness have effective services designed for their unique needs. Whether one needs housing, medical shelter, a safe place for recovery, or calm in the face of intimate partner violence - we care for those most vulnerable in our community. We are not just one program. We are a network of programs designed to work together to meet every stage of need. We focus on the hardest-to-reach, most vulnerable people: Women+, Medical Crisis, Substance Use Disorder, and Older Adults. Our programs meet the needs of people, rather than demanding that people meet the needs of our programs. JOB SUMMARY: Community Forward SF is hiring an Assistant Manager for A Woman's Place Drop-In Center, the only 24-hour supportive drop-in center in San Francisco for all women. Assistant Managers oversee staffing and operations for their designated shift and work area. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Support the Community Forward SF (CFSF) mission to promote stabilization, hope, and healing for adults experiencing homelessness in San Francisco.
- Work collaboratively with CFSF, Security Services, and DPH employees in an integrated team to meet shared goals.
- Train, supervise, and evaluate program staff on your designated shift, including weekly 1:1 meetings with each staff member.
- Coordinate staff schedules and daily program activities.
- Oversee correct and timely punch in/punch out and submission of employee hours to payroll.
- Initiate progressive disciplinary action, when appropriate.
- Maintain and document reviews of client complaints/concerns on a regular basis.
- Meet with clients on a regular basis to assure quality service, acting as a community liaison.
- Ensure that clients are treated with dignity and respect and that their needs are adequately met while at the facility.
- Participate in program planning, development, and maintenance of program goals.
- Adhere to established policies and procedures.
- Ability to work/be on-call on evenings and/or weekends.
- Facilitate community (client) meetings.
- Training and meeting attendance. Ensure your direct reports are in compliance with mandatory training.
- Other duties as assigned.
BACKGROUND & EXPERIENCE:
- Previous management experience.
- Comfort with technology including basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, and payroll software.
- Possess effective communication skills and the ability to work both independently and cooperatively.
- Possess effective time management and timekeeping skills
- Possess and demonstrate a strong ability to effectively de-escalate conflict and teach and model trauma-informed de-escalation skills to staff.
- Possess a good understanding of homelessness, trauma, DV/IPV, HIV/AIDS, substance use disorder and recovery, mental health disorders and neurodiversity, and systems of oppression.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse individuals who self-identify by culture, language, neighborhood, sexual identity, gender, and other definitions.
- Strong self-awareness, cultural humility, and commitment to personal praxis.
- Ability to write and speak English effectively.
- CPR and first aid certification required within 90 days of hire.
- TB Clearance and proof of COVID-19 full vaccination required within 7 days of hire.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge of San Francisco community resources.
- Experience working with at-risk client populations.
- Lived experience with homelessness
- Multicultural, multilingual in Spanish and/or other SF Threshold Language
- Passion for working with at-risk client populations.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to stand and walk as needed throughout the shift for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to sit and use a computer, including keyboard and visual display terminal, for extended periods of time.
- Finger, hand, and wrist agility.
- Ability to complete tasks in an environment where interruptions are the norm and background noise is present.
- Ability to move throughout buildings commonly including stairs, between buildings, and out in the community.
