The spirit of the position:The Serco Assistant Manager is responsible for recording data, identifying trends, and generating insights regarding the On-Street Parking Enforcement operation for the City of Chicago. Insights will be communicated to the Operations Manager, General Manager, and City staff as recommendations for program improvements. They are responsible for helping to facilitate ongoing safety training initiatives for frontline employees. This is a high-demand role, with daily interaction between parking regulations employees, managers, Human Resources, and Risk Departments. The ideal candidate will be responsible for all aspects of monthly accounting, performance-based, and reporting for a dynamic work environment. Job duties include gathering data, interpreting statistics, writing reports, and designing charts and graphs. Full-time 5 days a weekCompensation: $60,000/year
Responsibility: - Monthly accounting and reporting
- Perform required month-end close activities
- Reconcile all location Balance Sheets and related asset, liability, and equity accounts.
- Prepare analysis and lead sheets, when appropriate.
- Partner with HR, Payroll, Compliance, and Service Departments to track key performance indicators weekly, monthly, and quarterly.
- Compile and prepare comprehensive monthly financial report packages and submit them timely to the field for review and approval.
- Meet monthly financial report submission deadlines to GM and client in line with management agreement and client expectations.
- Responsible for all daily, weekly, monthly, and annual Parking Revenue and Ticket management, reporting, and reconciliation.
- Answer telephone calls promptly and provide excellent customer service for clients, customers, employees, applicants, and managers.
- Created forms and reports for all revenue/accounts receivable related items and analyzed and reconciled reports to find revenue variances.
- Inventory and Audit responsibility for all parking-related consumables, including, but not limited to hangtags, decals, tickets, validations, etc.
- Communicates all revenue-related questions, concerns, and requests to the on-site Project Manager and Revenue Manager for clarification and reconciliation purposes.
- Ensuring that increased revenue, managed expenses, and customer satisfaction are maximized by maintaining the highest level of service thresholds and initiatives that are aligned with the expectations of our various clients.
- Create and maintain data reports/dashboards using Microsoft Excel, PowerBI, SAP Business Objects
- Analyze historic performance metrics to develop data-driven strategies for performance improvement
- Lead, direct, and develop a team of employees to accomplish annual and periodic goals/initiatives, while embodying and using LAZ Parking's culture as a guideline.
- Develop and conduct new-hire training courses, focused on safety, performance, and the LAZ Way
- Communicate with the local police department and emergency management teams regarding operations.
- Assist the region with the business development, proposal, presentation, and transitions for new locations.
- Identifying high-potential employees to support the organization's continued growth.
- Daily, Weekly, Monthly, and Annual financial and operational reports as required.
- Managing, planning, scheduling, training, and directing the activities of Facilities Managers and Assistant Managers which may require compliance with the Collective Bargaining Agreements.
- Serve as a liaison to parking patrons and various stakeholder groups who are impacted by the operations of the assigned portfolio (and vice versa).
- Maintains communication with regional leadership on all safety and claims key performance indicators
- Responsible for the safety, security, and cleanliness of all operational areas.
- Partner with the Compliance Auditor & Financial Audit Teams to ensure that safety & security standards are met
- Assist with managing the Safety/Security/Training audits; Driver checklists, site visit evaluations, risk audits, hotspots boards, catch a thief program, safety audits, etc.
- Additional related duties as assigned.
- Advanced proficiency in all Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, etc.)
- Ability to learn GIS mapping
- Experience in data analysis: seeking and collecting relevant data, as well as documenting the information being processed; analyzing results, identifying patterns and trends in data sets, and reporting the results back to relevant members of the team.
Education: - College degree (BA/BS in related field)
