What You'll Do:The Mascot Assistant will assist with the game-day operations for the Chicago Blackhawks Tommy Hawk Mascot Program. This role will support the onsite facilitation of all mascot performances, including Blackhawks games, team events, and all outside appearances to maximize the entertainment offerings of the Tommy Hawk brand. How You'll Contribute:
  • Provide onsite management and assist with all Tommy Hawk appearances at Blackhawks home games, along with both internal and external events
  • Be the spoken voice of Tommy Hawk - serving as the boots-on-the-ground voice for Tommy Hawk at all games and events
  • Assist in developing new skits, stunts, and other innovative ideas to enhance game presentation, team events, and community appearances.
  • Assist with prop and costume production, care, laundering, and maintenance
  • Serve as the understudy to our primary mascot performer
  • Support all Events and Experience department objectives to create an elite fan experience
  • Perform all other duties as needed.
What You Bring to the Table:
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing or related field
  • 1-2 years collegiate or professional sports franchise experience - specifically with a mascot program
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays as dictated by the event and game schedules
  • Exceptional organization and time management skills and the ability to organize resources, establish priorities and develop, plan, and implement short- and long-range goals
  • Have a firm understanding of the mascot industry and best practices
  • Ability to apply creativity and design principles to assigned projects
  • Ability to engage through verbal, non-verbal, and written communication with strong listening skills
  • Ability to work independently without supervision, be self-directed and demonstrate initiative
  • Aptitude for collaborating cross-departmentally and build rapport with a diverse set of stakeholders
  • Ability to perform complex tasks and to prioritize multiple projects
  • Ability to address, adapt to, and overcome challenges in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Demonstrate aptitude for driving results

The Team:The Chicago Blackhawks started their journey as one of the NHL's Original Six professional ice hockey teams in 1926.
