SUNY Ulster Assistant Men's Basketball Coach
Part-time; under 17.5 hours per week as needed

Position Summary:
SUNY Ulster County Community College, a two-year branch of the State University of New York located ninety miles north of New York City in the Catskill Mountains, is currently accepting applications for an Assistant Men's Basketball Coach for the upcoming 2024-2025 season.
The individual will be involved in all aspects of the program, including assisting with recruitment and retention of student athletes, travel responsibly, practice and game preparation, promoting the program both on and off campus and complying with all SUNY Ulster Community College Association, Mid-Hudson Conference, Region XV, and NJCAA rules, regulations, policies and procedures. Individual should be available during the competitve season with varied hours including nights and weekends.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Assist with the recruitment of student-athletes on a national and international level.
* Assist with the management of recruiting database of potential recruits.
* Develop and execute recruiting plan.
* Plan and organize on-campus visits.
* Assist in all aspects of a NJCAA basketball program, including thorough knowledge of the sport, coaching strategies and student-athlete development.
* Assist in overall program planning and organization.
* Travel with the team to away competitions and assist with the coordination of team travel.
* Assist/coordinate social media platforms.
* Assist with alumni events.
* Other Administrative duties as assigned.
* Work within the framework of the Department of Athletics administration and head coaches.
* Communicate effectively with students, faculty, administration, staff and alumni.
* Ability to uphold the commitment to the Department of Athletics mission and values of education through Athletics.
Minimum Qualifications:
* HS Diploma
* Evidence of strong organizational and communication skills.
* Collegiate playing experience
* Ability to interact effectively with student-athletes, colleagues, and the public.
* Capable and willing to actively participate in fundraising, promotions, and other similar endeavors as they relate to the Basketball program and the entire Athletics Department
And
* Commitment to community college goals and objectives of providing quality programs and services for culturally, socio-economically, ethnically, and academically diverse students and students with disabilities; personal qualities to work effectively and with sensitivity in a multicultural environment; awareness of and commitment to the needs of non-traditional and/or re-entry students with diverse abilities and interests.
Preferred Qualifications
* Previous assistant coaching experience
Salary: $2,000 for entire term October 1st through March 15th annually.
