- Previous management experience is preferred
- 3-5 years of parts experience
- At least 3 year of dealership parts experience
- Provide exceptional customer service and teamwork with fellow associates
- Always conduct yourself ethically and treat each customer and fellow associates with respect.
- A high attention to detail combined with the ability to work quickly.
- Enthusiastic presence and ability to smile constantly while with customers.
- Ask yourself everyday: If I were a customer, what would I want? Then do your best to provide that kind of solution for your customer at every opportunity.
- Supervise employees engaged in sales work, taking inventories, keeping operating records, or performs work of subordinates as needed.
- Notify the service technician, shop foreman and the customer when special ordered parts have been received.
- Notify parts manager of out-of-stock parts or shop materials that need immediate attention.
- Drives team and store performance in maintaining all department metric goals
Responsibilities of the Assistant Parts Manager:As one of our Assistant Parts Manager you will join a strong team of professionals who support our retail customers, wholesale customers and internal staff. Key responsibilities include:
- Greet customers immediately once they walk up to the parts department.
- Assists all customers (retail and shop) in selecting required parts in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner.
- Answers phone calls promptly, providing price quotes and other information.
- Ability to communicate customer's interests, needs and requests to management and sales personnel.
- Pulls and fills orders from stock; then replenishes inventory daily.
- Follows up on back-ordered parts.
- Ensures all internal requests for parts are billed on service repair order.
- Receives payment from retail customers or obtains credit authorization.
- Issues credit for parts returned, ensuring that the original invoice, or its number, is available so that purchase and pricing can be verified.
- Keeps orderly records of all repair orders, invoices, insurance estimates, and special order parts.
- Keeps current on new products and product updates.
