Every employee takes a person-centered approach that exemplifies the ICARE values (Integrity, Compassion, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence) through empathic communication and partnerships between all persons.Job DescriptionUnder supervision, with considerable latitude for independent initiative and judgment, coordinates the planning, development, and implementation of training and staff development programs to enhance technical, professional, and management skills and knowledge in order to attain the optimization of human resource management and utilization. Additionally, will lead in the planning, development, and coordinating of programs, and with the implementation of initiatives within the facility as a whole, to support employee retention.General tasks and responsibilities will include:
  • Development and preparation of any strategic planning and project implementation application, tools, reports and any other necessary documents
  • Provides logistical, and technical support for employee training program planning and development
  • Leads program development efforts and project management efforts
  • Analyzes and evaluates quantitative and qualitative data to identify opportunities for improvements in program planning and implementation
  • Conducts and compiles research information related to healthcare best practices and trends in employee training and development.
  • Reviews training needs in order to develop instructional materials for on-the-job training and other instructional needs that may be pertinent
  • Works with Department Heads in preparation of training curricula. Identifies purpose and objectives, selects materials and instructional procedures.
  • Formulates teaching outlines in conformance with selected instructional methods utilizing knowledge of specified training and development needs and effectiveness of such training methods as individual coaching, group instruction, lectures, demonstrations, conferences, meetings and workshops.
  • Conducts general or specialized training sessions covering such areas concerned with new employees' orientation, specific on-the-job training, promotional development, upgrading, retraining, leadership, management development, coaching and other such adaptations to changes in policies, procedures, regulations and new technologies.
  • Assists in the planning, development, implementation, tracking of initiatives and collection and analyzing of data to determine training program impact and opportunities to support development.
  • Plans and coordinates events such as focus groups, and post training evaluations to meet training program objectives
  • Facilitate transparent management of program budget and ensure timely submission of documentation and requests.
  • Uses initiative in formulating, coordinating and executing program activities, and ensures seamless and timely completion of all related tasks, including post training analysis and feedback
  • Performs other tasks and duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications1. A Master's Degree with specialization in Personnel Management, Business Administration, Labor Relations, Psychology or Vocational Guidance, and two years of experience in personnel management or personnel administration in a large governmental agency, hospital or healthcare facility or civic organization or business firm employing at least three-hundred employees, one year of which must have been in a responsible administrative or supervisory capacity; or, 2. A Baccalaureate Degree issued from an accredited college or university, and three years of experience as indicated in (1), two years of which shall have been in a responsible administrative or supervisory capacity. (Experience which consists solely of the maintenance of personnel transactions will not be accepted); or, 3. A satisfactory equivalent combination of education and experience.Department Preferences

  • An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience indicating the ability to perform satisfactorily
  • A Baccalaureate Degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration, Management, Social Sciences, Health Care Specialization, Education, Psychology or related programs
