What we're looking for:
The Assistant Plant Controller is a high performing contributor that works to facilitate and support controller functions and projects. This role will work closely with the Plant Controller and plant management team to ensure the accuracy of financial reporting, analysis of plant performance, and adherence to internal controls and company policies.
What you'll do:
* Facilitate the plant's budgeting, forecasting, costing, strategic planning, provide objective guidance, and offer constructive feedback on these functions.
* Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements, variance analysis, and performance metrics for the plant.
* Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
* Assist in the development and preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts for the plant.
* Monitor actual performance against budget/forecast and investigate and explain variances.
* Work closely with plant management to develop strategies to achieve financial targets.
* Provide timely and accurate financial information to plant management and corporate finance team.
* Perform all aspects of general accounting and assist with audits, reconciliations, and analysis of capital projects.
* Consult with the plant management team in all functional areas of the plant to gather information concerning production, inventories, efficiencies, plant payroll, and any other focal areas.
* Assist plant management team to maintain the integrity of the plant's financial statements and support plant management on business decisions.
* Support month-end closing duties including preparing journal entries, reviewing financial accounts, and performing account reconciliations.
* Support on additional projects and reports as needed.
* Perform other duties as necessary.
What you have:
* Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
* 2-4 years of job-related experience.
* Experience with cost accounting or plant accounting preferred but not required.

* Demonstrates strong knowledge of technical, process, and business principles as well as industry practices and standards.
* Excellent communication, problem solving, and organizational skills.
* Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
* High level of integrity and discretion in handling sensitive and confidential data.
* Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite products.
