Job Description:

This is a managerial position that also requires a considerable amount of technical expertise in modern printing production and manufacturing processes. The purpose of this position is to manage the daily production schedule of the Nash Print Plant, which will include but is not limited to organizing and directing of work, monitoring the quality of work being produced, evaluating equipment requirements, responding to customer concerns (quotations, artwork, disks, paper, inks, quantities and delivery times), performing personnel functions, conducting budget planning and reviews, short and long term equipment replacement planning. This position must be able to communicate effectively with staff, upper management and customers. This position is vital to the print plant's operations because of the need to manage staff, workflow, quality of work, safety, equipment needs and personnel. This position must provide leadership and cultivate an atmosphere that will enhance the efficiency and growth of the print plant.

This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits.

Work Hours Monday - Friday 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM

To qualify for this position, applicants must document on the application that they possess ALL of the following:

* Documented experience in various industry safety programs with ability to identify safety hazards.

Management Preference

* 4 - 8 years of work experience in the day to day operations of a department or industry.

* Knowledge of state purchasing procedures, inventory and custody safety and security policies.

Necessary Special Qualifications: Must be eligible for certification by the NC Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards Commission. Click HERE for specific certification requirements. Must be at least 20 years of age and a citizen of the United States. Must possess a valid driver's license. Pass Psychological testing as required by NC Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards Commission. Pass Physical Examination as required by NC Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards Commission. Pass Drug Screening as required by NC Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards Commission. Attend and successfully complete (6) weeks of Basic Correctional Officer Training (BCOT) at a Training Facility. Employees shall be scheduled for BCOT during their 2nd month of employment.Some state job postings say you can qualify by an equivalent combination of education and experience. * Associate degree in Applied Science in industry related field and a minimum of two years of experience in related line of production/service and three years of management experience; or an equivalent combination of training and directly related experience

Plant Specific Special Requirements

* Agriculture - NC Pesticide License and NC Wastewater License

* Cannery - Low Acid and Acidified Food Production certification must be obtained within one year of hire

* Laundry - Certified Professional Laundry Manager or Certified Laundry and Linen Manager certification

* Braille - Certified Braille Transcriber certificate must be obtained within 18 months of hire.
