Job Description:
We are seeking an Assistant Plant Manager with foundry experience for a full-time direct hire position with our client just outside of Tulsa, OK. This is a salary benefited position with bonus. Relocation assistance is available. Opportunity for advancement. In this role you will:
  • Direct, manage, and coordinate manufacturing operations and related service functions with and as directed by the Plant Manager to achieve safe, efficient, and economical plant operations which fulfill customer quality and delivery expectations and Company profit objectives.
  • Optimize ferrous/ductile iron foundry operations, primarily Green Sand and NoBake, by promoting continuous improvement and drive for production success.
  • Help establish production goals and accountability for meeting those goals.
  • Participate with and advise various teams and committees such as the World Class Quality Team, Employee Experience Team, Manufacturing Capability Team, and Utilization Team as needed to improve foundry performance.
  • Recommend and ensure compliance with approved departmental budgets.
  • Ensure sufficient trained manpower to meet both short- and long-term objectives.
  • Ensure increasing levels of customer and employee satisfaction while improving the efficiency of manpower, materials and machines. Control and minimize labor overtime.
  • Manage policy deployment in the areas of quality, cost reduction, complete and on-time delivery, safety and customer satisfaction.
  • Manage compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Ensure all plant safety, quality and productivity processes and procedures are followed within areas of responsibility.
  • Performs other work as instructed by Plant Manager.
  • Participate in regularly scheduled safety meetings and toolbox talks.
  • Interact with and be accountable to supervisors regarding safe work behaviors and developing safety knowledge and job skills.
  • Aid in accident investigations as needed. Set an example for safe behavior and show commitment to safety.
  • Qualifications (minimum):
    • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
    • B.S. Degree in Business preferred, or equivalent experience is required.
    • Prior foundry experience (preferrable ferrous/ductile iron)
    • Must exhibit good management/leadership skills.
    • Exhibit basic computer skills. (e.g. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
    • Must be production minded and improvement oriented while instilling quality and safety in those under his/her leadership
    • Must be able to work extra hours on weekdays or weekends as required to fulfill job duties.
    • Must exhibit the ability to cooperate well with others.
    • Must exhibit strong character, ethics and commitment.
    • Must exhibit an excellent record of punctuality and attendance.
    • Must have exceptional organizational skills.
    • Must exhibit the ability to work with confidential information and maintain confidentiality
    • Must possess an active license to operate mobile equipment including a company vehicle if needed.
    • A negative tuberculosis test result.
    Essential Physical Requirements:
    • Due to the hazardous nature of the job environment (mobile equipment, overhead cranes, etc.), acceptable levels of vision and hearing are required in order to identify and respond to visual and audible warnings in a safe manner.
    • Sitting required at desk while preparing reports, on telephone, writing, reading, etc.
    • Standing required on various even/uneven surfaces at file cabinet, copier and in various departments throughout the plant.
    • Walking required on various even/uneven surfaces from within all areas of the plant.
    • Climbing stairs/ladders required to access offices in the plant, check equipment, etc.
    • Balancing required throughout the day.
    • Stooping, kneeling, and crouching required while using some equipment, filing, etc.
    • Overhead, forward and bended reach to access shelves, perform desk activities, pick up items, etc.
    • Handling required for calculator, telephone, computer, etc.
    • Talking with supervisors, co-workers and customers is required.
    • Vision required for computer, filing, safety, etc.
    • Hearing required for communication, safety, meetings, etc.
    • Lifting and carrying up to 50lbs is required.
    • Pushing and pulling up to 50lbs required to move products, use file drawers, use hand tools, operate equipment, etc.
    • The ability to use a respirator as directed.
    • The ability to work in extreme heat and cold is required.
    • Must wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE) required to perform duties.
