Founded by a service academy graduate who has offshore experience, Core Group Resources' expertise is unmatched in the marine offshore market, finance, IT, renewables, & non-profit for executive search, staffing, and expertise identification.*Port Engineer Job Summary* We are seeking a skilled and proactive Port Engineer to play a pivotal role in the oversight and maintenance of our fleet of vessels, ensuring they operate efficiently, safely, and in full compliance with regulatory standards. In this position, you'll manage and plan maintenance schedules, conduct thorough inspections, and coordinate essential repairs to uphold optimal vessel performance. Working closely with ship crews, contractors, and technical staff, you'll support daily operations and address any technical challenges promptly. By ensuring the highest levels of operational readiness, you will be instrumental in minimizing downtime and enhancing the safety and reliability of the fleet. *Port Engineer Responsibilities* * Oversee daily and long-term maintenance for a fleet of vessels, including tugboats. * Develop and implement maintenance schedules to optimize operational efficiency and reduce downtime. * Collaborate with vessel crews and operations staff to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues. * Coordinate repairs, inspections, and certifications to ensure compliance with industry standards. * Manage budgets for vessel maintenance and parts, and liaise with vendors and suppliers. * Provide technical guidance to onboard crews and ensure training compliance in line with company and industry standards. *Port Engineer Position Requirements* * Bachelor's degree in Marine Engineering or a related field (preferred but not required with substantial experience). * Previous experience as a Port Engineer, Fleet Engineer, or similar role. * Knowledge of marine vessel systems, including propulsion, HVAC, electrical, and mechanical systems. * Strong communication skills and ability to work in a dynamic, hands-on environment. * Tugboat experience is a plus, but experience with other vessel types will also be considered. * This is a fantastic chance to join a reputable company, contribute to a skilled team, and enjoy all that Tampa has to offer.
