Job description:The Warehouse Pouch Sorting Assistant Lead will also fill in for the Warehouse Pouch Sorting Lead in their absence. This includes temporary leadership and management of the pouch sorting process and direction of the team which completes the process. During these times the Warehouse Pouch Sorting Assistant Lead will be responsible for safety, quality, and efficiency for the pouch sorting team and operation. Position Type and Hours:
- Full Time
- 1st Shift - 7:00 am to 3:00 pm with flexibility to adjust to 9:00am to 5:00pm.
- 20-minute paid lunch
- Working days and start and end times may vary based on season and the needs of the company.
- Normal working days are Monday through Friday.
- Saturdays are scheduled when necessary to meet customer demand.
- Ten (10) and twelve (12) hour shifts may be required during busy times.
Work Classification: Heavy duty position as defined in the Dictionary of Occupational Titles. Education:
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred. Post High School management and/or leadership experience or training highly desired.
Experience / Qualifications
- High School equivalent English language verbal and written communication skills required.
- Conversational, verbal Spanish language communication skills preferred.
- Must obtain (within 30 days) and maintain Forklift Certification.
- Prior food manufacturing experience is preferred.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Food safety is the responsibility of every employee. Any issues should be brought to the immediate attention of area supervisor of manager.
- Ensures adherence to company rules and policies including but not limited to, GMP's, BRC requirements, USDA, FDA, and OSHA regulations.
- Responsible for proper, accurate inventory and quality documentation in Pouch Sorting.
- Effectively communicates with internal partners (Warehouse, Customer Service, Shipping, Quality, and Engineering).
- Responsible for enforcing good employee behavior and escalating to the Assistant Manager of Warehouse Operations when necessary.
- Must be willing to work alongside pouch sorting laborers to achieve goals and meet customer needs.
- Makes recommendations to the Manager of Warehouse Operations or Assistant Manager of Warehouse Operations to facilitate continuous improvement.
- Facilitates positive teamwork atmosphere through actions and words.
- Must be willing to operate a forklift to pick, move, or induct product.
- Other duties as assigned by the Manager of Warehouse Operations or Assistant Manager of Warehouse Operations.
Duties in the absence of the Warehouse Pouch Sorting Lead:
- Responsible for leadership and management of safety, quality, and efficiency for the pouch sorting team and operation.
- Ensures work is done according to standard operating procedures where they exist.
- Responsible for managing the prioritization and flow of work in the Pouch Sorting process to ensure customer shipments are complete and on time.
- Responsible for maximizing throughput (cases/man hour) while maintaining excellent quality standards.
- Manually tracks time and attendance of temporary employees and reports data to Assistant Manager of Warehouse Operations.
- Provide timely information to the Maintenance Department on Maintenance issues.
