This position has potential to convert to a permanent position. This role reports to the Director of CP Kids and works closely with the teaching team and entire CP Kids staff. The Assistant Preschool Teacher will work Monday - Friday, 10 AM - 6 PM.As the Assistant Preschool Teacher, you will be expected to:
- Play and engage with children while modeling appropriate language and social interaction
- Help children gain independence and self-help skills
- Run, play, and be active with students
- Work collaboratively with colleagues as part of a teaching team to help plan and implement curriculum
- Build relationships with families and work with parents to help them grow and be able to answer questions (i.e. potty training, sleep, etc.)
- Be responsible for the safety of students both inside the school and out in the neighborhood
- Interact with parents and students in a professional manner both verbally and via email and other online channels
QualificationsAbout You:You are punctual, dependable, nurturing, and passionate about working with preschool age children. You are comfortable working collaboratively and possess strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills.
- Bachelor's degree
- Prior experience teaching children 3-5 years old preferred
- Excellent references
- Have a strong understanding of the development needs of young children
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to stand on one's feet or long periods of time
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
