Job Description:
About the Employer At our core, EDCOE supports the diverse educational needs of El Dorado County's student population not only in schools but throughout the community. Our leadership provides students with progressive and engaging learning experiences, while facilitating collaboration that maximizes resources for school districts and the county alike. Our goal is to deliver educational excellence through responsible, cost-effective centralized services in order to meet regulatory and educational standards in a safe, successful, educational environment for all of our children. Students, parents, educators and the community are invited to learn more about our services, programs, opportunities and innovations offered and available to prepare students for future success. Job Summary We have a unique opportunity to lead in both our Adult Education and Court School settings. If you are a person with experience in either Adult Education or Alternative Education, this may be for you! The Adult Education program offers services to community members ages 18+ with campuses located in the town of El Dorado as well as South Lake Tahoe. Adult Education provides a meaningful curriculum that considers each student's individual needs, learning styles, and goals; this includes a strong and deeply devoted instructional and support staff team. The program design is independent study; however, all students attend scheduled appointments at times on campus. Our program helps students find success by providing high-quality educational programs, positive reinforcement, and relationship building. Adult Education provides an educational experience that prepares students for college and career success. Adult Education offers para-educator training, Medical Assistant training, ESL, Financial Literacy, high school diploma/GED, and other personalized curriculum. The Blue Ridge Court School program (located inside the Juvenile Treatment Center in South Lake Tahoe) offers services to youth grades 6 to 12 and consists of court-incarcerated youth that serve students from El Dorado and several surrounding counties. The Court School Program staff, in partnership with the Probation Department, are dedicated to creating a safe and productive learning environment where positive educational experiences impact student choices. We are committed to providing individualized academic programs for our students to best advocate for their present and future educational needs, including differentiated instruction, innovative use of technology, and development of the 21st-century skills needed to be college and/or career-ready upon graduation. We also partner with Lake Tahoe Community College (LTCC) to provide dual-enrollment opportunities. Requirements / Qualifications Both Adult Education and Blue Ridge Court School partner with multiple community agencies to create a community that grows and leads together. We partner for impact and deliver exceptional service and support. We are in search of a candidate who exudes the values of integrity, equity, relationships, service, and innovation.
