Contact: Please submit an online application Full/Part Time: Full-TimeFLSA Classification: ExemptReports To: Director of ProductionBasic Function and Scope of Responsibilities:One of two primary contacts for all performing artists appearing at Tilles Center, the Assistant Production Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the facility as it relates to upcoming shows and general maintenance and upkeep. The Assistant Production Manager will also prepare and supervise a share of all Tilles Center events.Responsibilities:Primary responsibility of executing the needs of performances on Tilles Center's stages. It is his/her job to take the information supplied in performance contracts and adapt them to function at Tilles Center.Direct supervisor of the crew at Tilles Center and in charge of all work calls.Responsible for maintaining inventory records and performing maintenance of equipment.Responsible for the general condition of performance and support spaces and to improve the safety, operation, and overall efficiency of the facility.Assist in maintaining program records, scheduling calendar, contracts, payments, and invoicing for assigned projects and events.Other administrative duties in support of the department as assigned by the Production Manager.Education Requirements:BA degree or equivalent work experience.Training, Skills, Knowledge, Experience:Minimum four years of experience working in technical theater.Understanding of issues/challenges of non-profits and the arts.Excellent interpersonal skills; must work well with students, administrators, and artists.Advanced understanding of technically-based computer operations and programs (MS Access, Excel, Lightwrite, and Vectorworks).Understanding of current theatrical lighting, video, and audio equipment (digital and analog).Strong organization, oral, and written communication skills.Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.Strong attention to detail.Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.Working Conditions:Work in office and in two performing arts spaces and other campus spaces as assigned (2242 seat main hall and 490 seat Recital Hall). Candidates are expected to work some nights and weekends as events dictate. Ability to lift over 30 lbs. Event days can typically require 16 hours onsite or more.Materials and Equipment:Will need to operate computers (to include PC and computerized lighting console), professional audio, video, and lighting equipment, office phone system, copier, and fax machine.LIU is an equal opportunity employer.
